AARINENA took part in the second Graduate Day and National Agricultural Exhibition held at the Faculty of Agriculture, Mutah University, under the theme: “Plant Production and Food Security in Dry Areas.” The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Salameh Al-Naimat, President of Mutah University.
Representing AARINENA, H.E. Prof. Rida Shibli, the Association’s Executive Secretary, delivered a keynote presentation titled: “The Role of AARINENA in Agricultural Research and Innovation in the Near East and North Africa.” The presentation highlighted AARINENA’s mission in promoting collaborative research, sharing knowledge, and driving innovation to address the region’s pressing agricultural challenges, especially those related to land degradation, climate change, and sustainable food systems.
The session was chaired by H.E. Prof. Mahmoud Al-Duwairi and attended by leading agricultural experts, researchers, and students. Prof. Shibli emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in addressing food insecurity and the role of research institutions in enhancing agricultural resilience across drylands.
AARINENA’s participation reaffirmed its commitment to supporting academic institutions and fostering the next generation of agricultural scientists and professionals. The event also featured contributions from FAO, the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), and industry leaders, followed by an agricultural exhibition showcasing innovations in biotechnology, smart agriculture, and sustainable production systems.
