On June 6th and 7th, AARINENA (Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa) actively participated in the Agrifood Systems Change Learning Workshop: The SFS-MED Experience. The event was held in the Iran room (foyer) at the FAO Headquarters in Rome, bringing together key stakeholders, experts, and organizations committed to transforming agrifood systems in the Mediterranean region.
The workshop, part of the Sustainable Food Systems (SFS) Mediterranean initiative, focused on fostering collaboration and sharing innovative strategies to address critical challenges such as climate change, food security, and sustainable agriculture. Participants engaged in intensive discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions aimed at developing actionable solutions for resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Dr. Rida Shibli, AARINENA’s Executive Secretary, particpated in the workshop, contributing AARINENA’s experience and insight on the latest research and developments in the agricultural sector. His involvement underscored AARINENA’s commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural practices and policies in the Near East and North Africa.
