AARINENA Participates in NexusLabs Project Workshop on Resilient Agriculture

Jordan – 22 July 2026

AARINENA participated in an introductory workshop on the NexusLabs Project and the Living Labs approach for resilient agriculture, held on 22 July 2026 at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Jordan.

Organized under the patronage of Dr. Zakaria Musallam, Director General of NARC, the workshop introduced participants to the NexusLabs Project — “Nexus Living Labs for Multi-Level Innovation in Mediterranean Irrigated Agriculture” — and its objectives, activities, and Living Labs approach.

The EU-funded project, supported through the PRIMA Programme, promotes collaborative innovation for more sustainable and resilient irrigated agriculture in Mediterranean countries. Its approach brings together researchers, public institutions, local communities and other stakeholders to jointly explore and test solutions addressing interconnected challenges related to water, energy, food production and ecosystems.

The workshop provided an opportunity for stakeholders from research institutions, ministries and local communities to exchange experiences and discuss collaborative approaches to sustainable resource management and agricultural resilience.

AARINENA’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, agricultural research and innovation, sustainable natural resource management, and knowledge exchange. Engagement in initiatives such as NexusLabs contributes to connecting research with practical solutions and supporting more resilient and sustainable agrifood systems across the NENA and Mediterranean regions.
