The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) took part in the TAIEX AGR 86232 – TAIEX Workshop on Knowledge Exchange for Biodiversity Utilisation Toward Sustainable Agriculture, held in Amman, Jordan, on September 8-9, 2024. The event brought together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the region to explore the vital role of biodiversity in promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
The workshop, organized under the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) instrument of the European Commission, focused on enhancing knowledge and best practices related to the sustainable use of biodiversity in agriculture. Participants discussed ways to integrate biodiversity conservation with agricultural productivity, ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience in the face of climate change and other challenges.
The event served as a platform for participants to exchange knowledge, discuss challenges, and develop strategies for sustainable agricultural practices that leverage biodiversity.
