AARINENA, represented by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Rida A. Shibli, participated in the opening of the 10th Jameed and Ghee Festival, held on 31 July 2026 at Al-Hussein Parks in Amman, Jordan.
Organized by the Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB), the festival was inaugurated in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Basma bint Ali, Chairperson of the Fund’s Board of Trustees. The tenth edition brought together around 30 charitable and cooperative associations from Jordan’s northern, central, and southern Badia regions, providing an important platform for rural producers and productive families to showcase and market their products.
The festival celebrates Jordan’s rich agricultural and food heritage, featuring traditional products including Jameed, local ghee, dairy products, traditional foods, handicrafts, and other products from Badia communities. Beyond preserving traditional knowledge and local food culture, the festival supports rural livelihoods by expanding marketing opportunities for community associations and connecting local producers with consumers and markets.
AARINENA’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting rural development, local food systems, traditional agricultural products, and sustainable value chains. Such initiatives demonstrate the importance of connecting agricultural heritage and local knowledge with livelihood development and market opportunities, while strengthening the contribution of rural communities to sustainable and resilient agrifood systems.
Through its engagement with national and regional partners, AARINENA continues to promote knowledge exchange and initiatives that empower rural communities, preserve agricultural heritage, and contribute to sustainable agricultural and rural development across the NENA region.
