AARINENA Participates in the National Conference on Higher Education in Jordan

The Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) was honored to participate in the National Conference on Higher Education, held under the patronage of H.E. Faisal Al-Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate, from May 8–10, 2025, at the Dead Sea, Jordan.

The conference, titled “A Roadmap for Modernization, Transformation, and Institutional Resilience in the Higher Education Sector,” brought together leading figures from government, academia, and civil society to discuss critical reforms and future strategies for higher education in Jordan.

Dr. Rida Shibli, Executive Secretary of AARINENA, actively contributed to the sessions focused on the modernization of academic structures and the promotion of institutional resilience. The event featured diverse panels covering:

  • Transformational policies in higher education aligned with economic modernization.
  • Organizational ambidexterity in Jordanian universities.
  • Success stories and reform models shared by university presidents and boards of trustees.
  • Outcomes of national committees on academic reform including research quality, social sciences, financing, legislation, and student life.

AARINENA’s participation highlighted the Association’s commitment to bridging agricultural research with academic advancement and to supporting educational institutions in addressing regional development goals.
