AARINENA Association participated, represented by Dr. Rida Shibli, the Executive Secretary, in the proceedings of the Arab Environmental Conference “The Road from Montreal to Dubai for One World,” which was held in Damascus via Zoom on Wednesday and Thursday, August 16-17, 2023, organized by Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Land (ACSAD).
The conference focused on the following main topics:
- Introducing the Rio environmental agreements and their role in protecting biodiversity in the Arab region.
- Addressing climate change in the Arab region.
- Combating desertification and restoring ecological systems.
The conference included discussions among experts and attendees, most of which revolved around the environmental impacts on the Arab region and ways to address them.
