AARINENA participated, represented by the Executive Secretary Dr. Rida Shibli, in the webinar titled ‘Climate Changes and Their Effects on Date Palm Cultivation,’ organized by the International Date Council and the Central Laboratory for Date Palm Research and Development. This took place on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
The webinar revolved around the following points:
- Causes of climate change
- Some physiological phenomena of climate change on date palms
- The Effect of Temperature Rise on Plants
- Some Pathological Effects of Climate Changes on Date Palms
- Insect Pests and Climate Changes
The webinar concluded with a discussion of several suggestions and points of common action among the participants, most of which aimed to find possible ways to address climate changes and their impacts on date palms.
