A partnership agreement was signed on June 10, 2021, between the Bekaa Farmers Association – Lebanon, and the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA), on enhancing information exchange, scientific research, agricultural technology development, and training of youth and women.
This step comes to benefit from the experiences of the AARINENA to build a stable ground towards supporting Arab farmers and increasing local production of basic products such as wheat and grains and working on designing a food policy towards achieving food security in Arab countries.
AARINENA aims to increase self-reliance from food and agriculture, and improve the general welfare of the people of the Near East and North Africa region while maintaining and improving the productive capacity of the natural resource base.
