AARINENA association participated in the events of the 23rd National Olive Festival and Rural Products Exhibition organized by the Agricultural Research Center on Thursday, November 23, 2023, for a duration of 10 days in the Jordanian capital, Amman. The event saw the participation of approximately 890 exhibitors.
The festival introduced a new dimension to achieving sustainable development goals by providing a marketing platform for small farmers and rural families in the provinces and outskirts. Participants included farmers, rural women, associations, presses, and members of field farmer schools from all provinces of the kingdom. Additionally, small and medium-sized companies operating in the food manufacturing sector took part. The festival also featured projects under the umbrella of the agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship incubator, as well as dedicated sections for development partners to enhance networking opportunities between small farmers, agricultural and innovative startups, and funding institutions. The festival facilitated electronic payment and marketing opportunities during and after the event, promoting the sustainability of the participants’ efforts.
The festival took place on an area exceeding 11,000 square meters at Mecca Mall Exhibition Center, with an additional 4,000 square meters utilized for showcasing handicraft products, hosting workshops, training programs, and lectures.
Moreover, on the sidelines of the festival, a series of training sessions were conducted in good olive farming practices, climate-smart agriculture, and the use of smart applications in agriculture. Sensory tasting sessions for olive oil were also organized, targeting approximately 1000 students from agriculture, environmental resources, and media colleges. Social integration activities were carried out for around 200 individuals with disabilities, especially those with Down syndrome. Additionally, several specialized workshops were held in collaboration with local and international partners, with three training rooms dedicated for this purpose.
