The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA) organize the first country-by-country meeting related to the established research, technology and innovation date palm platform in the NENA region

Country by Country Meeting – Algeria – 11 Experts from Algeria

 June 22, 2022

Venue: via Zoom Meeting

Attendees: Date Palm Stakeholders in NENA Region – Algeria

AARINENA held a series of meetings for “country by country” for the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region, this involved excellent discussions with a lot of date palm experts from each country of the NENA region.

During the last meeting of the “Date Palm Expert and Key Persons in the NENA Region”, that was held on June 6, 2022, all participants agreed to hold series of meetings of “country by country” to discuss further collaboration and engagement in the established date palm innovation platform by AARINENA and FAO. So, this was the first meeting of “country by country”, with the agricultural research center (INRA) – Algeria country.

This involved good discussions with researchers who were interested in date palm research and innovation, by sharing the link for the date palm innovation platform: (https://aarinena.org/palm/), then participants enter the platform and discussed the different important parts of the platform (registration, forums, resources, stakeholders and the projects). The good discussions involved having a webinar with the presenter Dr. Yatta Djamila in August 2022 for the date palm network of AARINENA. Also, to have another meeting later with the date palm from Algeria to elaborate more about the platform.

Finally, we remind the participants of the Webinar that will be on 21 July 2022, and the field day on 6 August 2022.
